“Wicked” is wowing audiences around the world \u2013 Reviewed By QUITA CULPEPPER, at KVUE News.<\/p>\n

Head carpenter Matt Biltgen says it takes an army to get everything from sets to costumes ready and on point night after night.<\/p>\n

“We fit the entire set here in 13 53-foot trucks. It takes two days to set up and five hours to take down,” Biltgen said. “Between the stagehands, actors, there’s about 100 of us backstage. There’s a lot of people, people that you don’t see.”<\/p>\n

The role of Glinda the Good has been played by a number of talented actresses.<\/p>\n

“They’ve all had wonderful careers, so to get into the club is really special,” said actress Hayley Podschun, who plays Glinda in the Austin<\/a> production.<\/p>\n

One of her biggest scenes is when she arrives by bubble.<\/p>\n

“This is how Glinda comes and greets everyone in Oz and brings her good word,” Podschun said. “This bubble is the same bubble Kristen Chenoweth rode in on the Tonys.”<\/p>\n

Wicked was nice enough to allow KVUE’s own Quita Culpepper to take a magic bubble ride, even letting her say Glinda’s opening line: “Oh, it’s good to see me, isn’t it?”<\/p>\n

“There’s a lot of comedy with the show, especially seeing how Elpheba and Glinda’s friendship starts and then forms into something positive and really wonderful,” Podschun said. “It’s something that I think everyone can learn from and take home with them.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
