Wicked One of the most successful shows in theatre history. When the Australian production of Wicked arrives in Brisbane<\/a> it will have already played more than 866 shows in Sydney and Melbourne.<\/p>\n

It is blitzing the Queensland box office with more than 70,000 tickets already sold. <\/p>\n

Ms Rix is the star of Wicked the Musical which opens in Brisbane<\/a> in January next year. \u201cWe are getting everyone aware of Wicked because we are going to Brisbane and I know it is still a little bit of a distance, but it is such a massive spectacle and a big event that we can\u2019t unfortunately take it to every town,\u201d Ms Rix said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to spread the word. It has been such a long running show it actually left us in Melbourne for about 14 months so it was like having a day job,\u201d Mr Dobson said.<\/p>\n

For Ms Rix landing the role of Elphaba was an amazing achievement for the performer who got her career start in various amateur musical theatre productions while growing up.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is one of those roles that everybody knows about in the musical theatre industry. A role that I think lots of people fought for and auditioned for and even in the audition process there were people that were dressing up; they weren\u2019t actually green but they were trying to make themselves look like Elphaba.\u201d<\/p>\n
