Second North American touring company of Wicked will welcome Laurel Harris, Kara Lindsay & Gene Weygandt in April 2014. Laurel Harris will take the role of Elphaba, Kara Lindsay as Glinda and Gene Weygandt as the Wizard beginning Wednesday, April 2 in Fresno, CA at Saroyan Theatre.

Laurel Harris returns to Wicked after touring with the show for the past three years. She was most recently the Standby for Elphaba on the 1st North American Tour.

Kara Lindsay originated the role of Katherine in the Broadway production of Newsies. She toured with Little House on the Prairie as Laura.

Gene Weygandt has previously played the Wizard in Wicked on Broadway and on tour. He has also appeared on Broadway in big: The Musical.

Wicked Broadway Musical grossed $1,539,830 and had an attendance rate of 98.8%, about 0.9% less than that of the previous week. “Wicked” is wowing audiences around the world – Reviewed By QUITA CULPEPPER, at KVUE News.

Head carpenter Matt Biltgen says it takes an army to get everything from sets to costumes ready and on point night after night.

“We fit the entire set here in 13 53-foot trucks. It takes two days to set up and five hours to take down,” Biltgen said. “Between the stagehands, actors, there’s about 100 of us backstage. There’s a lot of people, people that you don’t see.”

The role of Glinda the Good has been played by a number of talented actresses.

“They’ve all had wonderful careers, so to get into the club is really special,” said actress Hayley Podschun, who plays Glinda in the Austin production.

One of her biggest scenes is when she arrives by bubble.

“This is how Glinda comes and greets everyone in Oz and brings her good word,” Podschun said. “This bubble is the same bubble Kristen Chenoweth rode in on the Tonys.”

Wicked was nice enough to allow KVUE’s own Quita Culpepper to take a magic bubble ride, even letting her say Glinda’s opening line: “Oh, it’s good to see me, isn’t it?”

“There’s a lot of comedy with the show, especially seeing how Elpheba and Glinda’s friendship starts and then forms into something positive and really wonderful,” Podschun said. “It’s something that I think everyone can learn from and take home with them.”
