Wicked Musical tour will be visiting Kitchener, Ontario Canada August 29 to September 09, 2012. When the cast of the Broadway show Wicked settles in at Centre in the Square Kitchener for a two-week run starting Aug. 29, they will present a unique version of the Wizard of Oz story. Most notably, the wicked witch of the west isn’t so evil after all.
Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One – born with emerald green skin – is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good makes for “the most complete – and completely satisfying – new musical in a long time” (USA Today).

Wicked opened on Broadway in 2003, won 35 major awards, including three Tonys, and continues to draw crowds. The show began its North American tour in 2005. In Wicked, several messages are brought home, messages about tolerance, friendship and not judging a book by its cover or a witch by the colour of her skin.
