After breaking box office records and selling out in record time in 2007, WICKED, the smash-hit musical will return to Providence, RI for the period December 16, 2009 through January 10, 2010. Based on the best-selling 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire, WICKED, winner of 26 major awards, including a Grammy® and three Tony® Awards, is the untold story of the witches of Oz. It is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone.

“Everyone at PPAC is very excited for the return of WICKED,” said Providence Performing Arts Center President J.L. “Lynn” Singleton. “WICKED broke our first-day box office record in 2006; people were lining up at 5 in the morning on opening day!
