The multi award-winning West End musical Wicked that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz, will welcome Martyn Ellis to the role of ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’ from Monday February 17, 2014. He replaces Sam Kelly who has withdrawn from the production due to ill health.
Martyn Ellis (The Wizard) joins Willemijn Verkaik (Elphaba), Savannah Stevenson (Glinda), Jeremy Taylor (Fiyero), Sue Kelvin (Madame Morrible), Paul Clarkson (Doctor Dillamond); Sam Lupton (Boq), Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose), Emma Hatton (Standby Elphaba) and Sophie Linder-Lee (Standby Glinda).
Wicked has been playing at the Apollo Victoria for six years, seven days a week – with two extra matinee shows on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons.
