All time Hit musical Wicked will finish its mammoth run at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney towards the end of next month.

The Broadway show opened in the capital of New South Wales almost a year ago, during which time it has been seen by more than half a million people, including a host of celebrities such as former Australia cricket star Glenn McGrath and his family.

Life Is A Rollercoaster singer and former Boyzone member Ronan Keating also recently watched the show, before going backstage to meet the cast.

The musical charts the lives of two friends who meet in Oz and go on to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

Despite the continued popularity of Wicked, the current run must come to an end on September 26th 2010. A surge in demand for some of the last minute accommodation Sydney has available is expected in the build-up to the final performance.

There is limited street parking available, and with the hustle and bustle of chinatown close by, you’d be hard pressed finding a spot unless you’re willing to do a few laps.

Parking is available at Capitol Square right next door to the theatre with an evening flat rate of $20.00 if you arrive after 6pm and leave before 12am. If you don’t mind a little walk, the best value car park around if you’re going to see Wicked the Musical at Capitol Theatre, Haymarket is Wilson Parking on Goulburn Street. The cheapest parking however (within 1km) are 2 Wilson car parks. Citipark on 431 Kent St and Darling Park at 201 Sussex St, both have $9.00 evening flat rates.
