Wicked West End musical at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, is pleased to announce that the tickets to this smash hit musical are on sale until Saturday 2 November 2013.

From 29 October 2012, Wicked will star: Louise Dearman (Elphaba), Gina Beck (Glinda), Ben Freeman (Fiyero), Louise Plowright (Madame Morrible), Keith Bartlett (The Wizard), Christopher Howell (Doctor Dillamond), Sam Lupton (Boq), Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose), Hayley Gallivan (Standby Elphaba) and Lucy van Gasse (Standby Glinda).

Wicked is now the 18th longest-running West End musical of all time and recently celebrated its landmark 2500th performance (8 September 2012) and 6th Birthday (27 September 2012). The Olivier and Evening Standard Award-winning London production of the global musical phenomenon has already been seen by almost 5 million theatregoers since its West End premiere in 2006.

Based on the acclaimed novel by Gregory Maguire that re-imagined the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’, Wicked tells the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

West End musical Wicked has picked up three prizes at the inaugural Mousetraps, a new set of awards voted for by young people.

Wicked Musical show won for best ensemble and show I would most recommend to a friend, while its home the Apollo Victoria also won the most welcoming venue award.

The awards were organised by Mousetrap Theatre Projects, a charity that helps disadvantaged young people attend theatre in the West End. More than 350 young people aged between 15 and 23 voted for the winners.

Wicked celebrates its landmark 5th birthday to night (Tuesday 27 September 2011) at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre. Wicked grossed £145 million at the box office.

Wicked premiered on 27 September 2006 (with previews from 7 September) in one of the busiest ever years for West End musical openings. Avenue Q; Cabaret; Caroline, or Change; Daddy Cool; Dirty Dancing; Evita; Porgy and Bess; Monty Python’s Spamalot; The Sound of Music and Sunday in The Park with George also all opened that year. With the 9 July 2011 closure of Dirty Dancing, Wicked has outlasted all of these shows and its popularity is greater than ever.

Wicked musical show is the ninth longest running musical currently playing in the West End alongwith Les Miserables (1), The Phantom of the Opera (2), Blood Brothers (3), Chicago* (4), Mamma Mia! Wicked, the long-running hit musical, made West End Theatre history last week with the highest ever recorded weekly gross. For week-ending 30 October 2010, the “hugely popular musical” (The Times) earned an extraordinary £923,612 at the Box Office. Over 20,000 people attended 9 performances of the musical at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre.

Wicked has now played over 1700 performances and grossed in excess of £115 million at the UK Box Office since its West End premiere in 2006. Now in its 5th year, over 3 million theatregoers have already seen the multi award-winning show.

Wicked stars Rachel Tucker (Elphaba) and Louise Dearman (Glinda) have both extended their contracts and will now continue in their acclaimed roles until 10 December 2011. Also continuing in their roles are Julie Legrand (Madame Morrible), Clive Carter (The Wizard), Julian Forsyth (Dr Dillamond) and Nikki Davis-Jones (Standby Elphaba).

Lee Mead (Fiyero), Cassandra Compton (Nessarose), George Ure (Boq) and original London cast member Sarah Earnshaw (Standby Glinda) will all depart on 5 February 2011.
