The wizard and witches of the magical land of Oz, Wicked West End production will continue to enchant London’s theatregoers as it has extended the booking period to 26 April 2014.

The Olivier Award-winning production, which is now in its seventh spectacular year at the Apollo Victoria, has already been seen by almost five million theatregoers since it opened in London in 2006 and is already the 16th longest running West End musical of all time. Starring leading musical theatre star Louise Dearman as green-skinned witch Elphaba, the musical phenomenon tells the untold story of the witches of Oz, introducing two girls who meet as sorcery students and following them as they grow into the misunderstood Wicked Witch of the West and the ever-popular Glinda The Good.

Wicked West End Cast Update: Dearman, who is the first actress to play both Glinda and Elphaba, is joined in the current cast by Gina Beck as Glinda, Ben Freeman as Fiyero and Louise Plowright as Madame Morrible. Melissa Jacques has replaced Tania Mathurin as the Midwife and understudy for Madame Morrible. In December 2010, it became the first West End show to gross more than £1 million at the box office in a single week. Michael McCabe, executive producer for Wicked in the UK, commented: “This is an incredible landmark for all of us involved in Wicked and we couldn’t be more delighted to have become such a popular, long-running hit. We are also proud that our continued success has enabled us to support so many charitable projects though our on-going ‘For Good’ programme. Our heartfelt thanks go to every single person who is part of this extraordinary production and to the millions of theatregoers who have been so supportive of the show since our very first performance five years ago.”
