Wicked” the musical arrives Wednesday at the Peace Center to cast its spell with gravity-defying witches, monkeys, levitating brooms and so much more that it takes 14 trucks to haul it all. The show, whose green heroine, Elphaba, inspires with her profound transformation, oozes green in another way, too. Nationwide, the show earns $1.4 million per week, according to Hollywood trade publication Variety. And it continues to generate income for the local communities where it plays. Andy Karl will assume the role of ‘Fiyero’ in the Broadway production of Wicked on 2 2010.

Karl assumes the role of ‘Fiyero’ from Kevin Kern who will play his final performance on 31 Jan 2010.

Karl originated the roles of ‘Joe’ in the Broadway production of ‘9 to 5.’ and ‘Luke’ in the Off-Broadway musical ‘Altar Boyz.’ He has appeared in the films ‘On The One’ and ‘New York, I Love You.’

The national tour of WICKED is set to land on the Civic Center’s Crouse-Hinds Theater’s stage for a three week engagement beginning January 13 to 31.
