Roscioli previously played the role of Elphaba on Broadway, in Chicago, in San Francisco and on national touring productions as well. Roscioli made her debut in Wicked Musical in the Chicago sit-down production on January 24, 2006 as the standby for the role of Elphaba, on December 12, 2006 assumed the lead role and continued for two years in the show’s Chicago company. Roscioli made her Broadway debut on July 21, 2009, reprising her role of Elphaba in the New York company of the musical. She played her final performance March 21, 2010 and was succeeded by Mandy Gonzalez. Dee Roscioli reprised the role on the show’s First National U.S. Tour, with performances from June 7, 2011 to October 2, 2011, replacing Jackie Burns.

Dee Roscioli holds the distinction of having played Elphaba in more performances than any other actress. She will return to the First National Tour in Las Vegas on September 25th, replacing Nicole Parker. Roscioli joins principal cast members Patti Murin as Glinda, Kim Zimmer as Madame Morrible and Tom McGowan as The Wizard.

The Wicked cast also features Justin Brill (Boq), Clifton Davis (Dr. Dillamond), Cliffton Hall (Fiyero), Demaree Hill (Nessarose), Carla Stickler, Lauren Boyd, Antonette Cohen, Rick Desloge, Luis Augusto Figueroa, Timothy A. Fitz-Gerald, Napoleon W. Gladney, Brenda Hamilton, Courtney Iventosch, Spencer Jones, Trevor Ryan Krahl, Renee Lawless-Orsini, Philip Dean Lightstone, Marissa Lupp, Michael Mahany, Kevin McMahon, Ashley Dawn Mortensen, Cassie Okenka, Christopher Russo, Adea Michelle Sessoms, Sarah Schenkkan, Pamela Shandrow, Ben Susak, Shanna VanDerwerker and Mikey Winslow.

Wicked tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

Wicked Musical is currently playing at Reynolds Hall in the Smith Center for the Performing Arts through October 07, 2012.

Here is the review by Don Chareunsy at Las Vegas Weekly.

The song could be about “Wicked” itself, as the Broadway smash based on the 1995 novel “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” by Gregory Maguire has become a theatrical phenomenon, winning three Tonys in 2004 and thrusting its two dynamic lead actresses Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda (or Guh-linda, with a Guh), and Idina Menzel as Elphie (Menzel, facing off against Chenoweth, went home with the statuette) into the spotlight.

No matter that “Wicked,” a prequel and parallel of Frank L. Baum’s “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” and the 1939 Hollywood classic “The Wizard of Oz” starring Judy Garland, has divided critics from day one (it was nominated for 11 Tonys and notably lost Best Musical, Best Book and Original Score to “Avenue Q”); it is critic proof — in the vein of the “Twilight” books and films — and has a devoted (fanatic) following like its predecessor “Rent.”

The scenic and costume design (the other two Tony winners) at Reynolds Hall on Thursday night were exemplary, and the supporting cast — Kim Zimmer (Madame Morrible — and, yes, Reva Shayne from “Guiding Light,” which garnered her four Emmys), Cliffton Hall (Fiyero), Tom McGowan (the Wonderful Wizard of Oz) and Demaree Hill (Nessarose) — under director Joe Mantello were very good.

But it’s no surprise that Parker and Murin are the exceptional standouts, and they hold their own against role originators Menzel and Chenoweth, respectively — big red ruby slippers to fill, indeed.

Murin is a comedic, ditzy blonde delight as Glinda, and she does the book by Winnie Holzman (“My So-Called Life”) proud with every hilarious vocal and physical delivery. Her rendition of “Popular” was a highlight of the evening; it’s good to be Glinda the Good Witch, who travels by bubble.

The audience heaped praise before, during and, in the valet line, post-show. The full standing ovation was immediate — and not just for Parker and Murin — and rousing.

“Wicked” is popular, and it will be po-pu-lar for many years to come. It’s Oz-some.

More than 60 people lined up near the building’s front door shortly before 7 a.m., each anxiously awaiting the chance to buy tickets for the smash-hit Broadway musical “Wicked,” which begins its six-week tour at the Smith Center on August 29 and continue through October 07, 2012

“When I heard it was coming to town, I knew I had to see it,” said Las Vegas resident Katherine Muniz, who was first in line Saturday morning. “I heard it was going to sell out, so I figured I’d get here at 4 a.m. just in case.” Muniz said she planned to buy a ticket for herself and one for her mother as a birthday gift. “I’m super excited. I’m glad that there’s more culture coming into town and more things for locals to do,” she said.

Wicked’s arrival is a major moment for the nascent Smith Center, which opened in March, said president Myron Martin, who was busy snapping pictures Saturday morning while wearing a “Wicked”-inspired green tie.

Because of the show’s popularity, tickets are expected to sell out and the Smith Center decided to hold an on-site sale Saturday morning for die-hard fans before releasing the remaining tickets for sale online at 10 a.m.

After purchasing her ticket and seeing the inside of the Smith Center for the first time, Sandy Mullally said she can’t wait for “Wicked” to arrive later this year. “It’s past time we’ve had something like this,” she said.
